WHAT IS 'Medical College Transfer Management System (MTMS)'?

Ans: The Medical College Transfer Management System (MTMS) is a digital portal developed by the Medical Education & Research Department under the guidance of the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Assam. It aims to streamline and manage the transfer processes for health care providers in medical colleges of Assam. The system simplifies the transfer application process, making it more efficient and easier to track for both applicants and administrators.

Why was MTMS developed?

Ans: MTMS was developed to address the challenges associated with the offline transfer application process for health care providers in medical colleges. The system was created to handle the large volume of transfer requests more efficiently, reduce processing time, and provide a transparent way for applicants to track the status of their applications.

Who can use the MTMS portal?

Ans: The MTMS portal is intended for health care providers working in medical colleges across Assam. This includes nursing staff, paramedics, technicians, and other Grade-III and Grade-IV supporting staff who are applying for transfers from their current posting.

How do I register myself?

Ans: To register, please follow these steps:

  1. Visit the web portal at https://mtms.assam.gov.in
  2. Click on the "Register" menu item at the top navigation bar.
  3. Fill out the registration form with the necessary information required.
  4. OTP Verify your mobile number by clicking on "Send OTP to Mobile number" button then submitting the OTP received on your mobile no.
  5. Then, Submit the registration form by clicking on the "Register" button.
  6. Once the registration is completed, you will receive an sms notification.
  7. At this point, you can log in using your registered mobile no. and Password.
How do I apply for a Unilateral Transfer using MTMS portal?

Ans: To apply for a Unilateral Transfer through the MTMS portal, follow these steps:

  1. Visit the web portal at https://mtms.assam.gov.in/.
  2. Register or log in using your credentials.
  3. Complete the Profile (Personal, Address and Service details) first.
  4. Go to "Apply Online" section of the sidebar. Then, select the Unilateral Transfer.
  5. Fill out the Application Form for Unilateral Transfer with the required details.
  6. After previewing, Submit your application.
  7. You will receive a confirmation and be able to track the status of your application through the portal.
  8. The application will undergo review and approval by the administrator.
What is the process of applying for Mutual Transfer?

Ans: The process of applying for Mutual Transfer is as follows:

  1. Visit the web portal at https://mtms.assam.gov.in/.
  2. Register or log in using your credentials.
  3. Complete the Profile first by filling the personal, address and service details.
  4. Go to "Apply Online" section of the sidebar. Then, select the Mutual Transfer.
  5. Before proceeding to apply for mutual transfer, kindly ask your co-worker to register in the MTMS portal.
  6. If you initiate the mutual transfer application, you will be referred to as the '1st Applicant' and your co-worker as the '2nd Applicant' throughout the system.
  7. Enter your co-worker's User ID/Registered Mobile Number. Then confirm the 2nd applicant.
  8. Then, Fill out the Application Form for Mutual Transfer with the required details.
  9. Once filled, Forward to 2nd Applicant for Approval.
  10. After forwarding to the 2nd applicant you will not be able to edit your reason/type/history of transfer any further! Profile can however be edited till final submission.
  11. You must final submit the application once the 2nd applicant approves.
  12. The joint application will undergo review and approval by the administrators.
How many Applications I can submit through MTMS portal?

Ans: Only one application can be submitted at a time. You can submit new application only when the pending application is closed.

How can I check the status of my transfer application?

Ans: After submitting your application through the MTMS portal, you can log in to your account and navigate to the "Application Status" section to view the current status of your transfer request.

If any document/picture to be uploaded?

Ans: If any document/picture needs to be uploaded, the requirements are as follows:

  1. A digital (or scanned) photograph of the applicant (optional): This should be a png/jpg/jpeg file with a size of no more than 200KB.
  2. A scanned copy of the joining letter (optional): The file should be in PDF format and should not exceed 200KB in size.
  3. Supporting Documents, if applicable, while applying for transfer (optional): The file should be in PDF format and should not exceed 500KB in size.

Please ensure that the documents and pictures meet the specified file formats and size limits when uploading them.

What should I do if I encounter issues with the MTMS portal?

Ans: If you face any issues with the MTMS portal, you can contact the support team through the contact information provided on the portal. Alternatively, you can visit the Medical Education & Research Department office for assistance.

Can I withdraw or modify my transfer application after submission?

Ans: The ability to withdraw or modify an application depends on the specific rules set by the MTMS portal. Please check the portal's guidelines or contact the support team for detailed information.

Can I edit my transfer application after I already filled it?

Ans: Yes, the applicant can edit the information as many times as desired during the application process. However, once the final application is submitted, they cannot edit any information provided by them.

What are the benefits of using the MTMS portal?

Ans: The MTMS portal offers several benefits:
